APPLICATION – USER GUIDE
The data below are applicable for the Fiber TornadoTMand Fiber GuardTM stretch films used for wrapping round or square bales of moist fodder allowing in this way the anaerobic fermentation process necessary for the production of silage.
This film must not be used for any other purpose and should be removed from the fields after use.

RECOMMENDED USE

Fiber GuardTM
- Τhe film stretching of the film should be 50-70%.
- Ensure pre-stretch unit rollers are regularly cleaned in accordance with wrapper manufacturer’s instructions.
- Final width of film as measured on the flat end of a round bale should be from 580mm tο 620mm with 750mm film.
- Should film width vary outside these limits, stop wrapping and ascertain cause.

- Store bales indoors, on flat side of the bale.
- Store rolls in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
- The ideal storage temperature is 20 – 30˚C.
- We recommend the application of 6 layers of bale wrap and at least 50% overlaps for an optimum silage result.
- A minimum of 6 layers of film should be applied either for round bales or for square bales.

- Wrap bales within 2 hours of baling to avoid spoilage. It is very important to quickly complete the wrapping after baling (maximum 2 hours).
- Unwrapped bales will slowly heat up resulting in loss of silage quality.
FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS FOR USAGE & SAFETY
Storage conditions
- Our high-quality boxes provide complete protection for the reels.
- The box has a precut opening ensuring the carton remains in one piece. Keep Prime in their packaging boxes until time of application.
- Do not leave films in direct sunlight. The wrapping must not be done in rainy conditions (moisture reduces the adherence of the films) or during the hot periods of the day (heat affects pre-stretching).
- Choose a well-drained site away from hedges, trees, exposed areas, and water courses.
- The film must be stored in its original packaging.
Baling
- After wrapping, the bales should be moved to their final storage either immediately within 1 hour, or after 72 hours have passed from the time of wrapping.
- Bales should be even shaped. Density must be uniform and there should be no soil contamination. The recommended dry matter for silage should be from 35% to 40%. Haylage should be max 55% dry matter.
- To minimize the risk of water between the layers in square bales, ensure the last layer is on the top side of the bale.
- Do not store bales on pallets.
Protection of the films
- It is recommended to use the films within 12 months following the date of delivery. Beyond this period, the film must no longer be used.
- The film is not resistant to attacks by animals (birds, cats, foxes, rodents, etc.). It is thus highly recommended to cover the stacks of wrapped bales with a protective net suitable for this purpose, and to put up a fence around these stacks and use anti-rodent products.
- Avoid overstretching the film. Overstretching could create a poor overlap.
- The Prime must not undergo any transformation, surface, heat or chemical treatment or any shaping.
- Rolls are heavy. Take care to lift bales in a safe manner.
- Our films are made from virgin polyethylene raw materials. Do not allow the films to meet petrochemical products in store or on the bale.
Disposal
- The films can also be disposed of at an authorized land fill or incineration plant.
- These films must never be buried or burnt by the user, nor should they remain stored on an agricultural site after use.
